It’s no secret things in life are a tad topsy turvy right now. What once was no longer is. What never was now is the reality. It’s uncomfortable to say the least. It’s inconvenient to be certain. And if we’re being honest, times are a tad scary right now. If you listen to the reports coming out in any regularity, then you’ve undoubtedly heard the reference to an invisible enemy. When we feel attacked by enemies we can see and even those we can’t see it’s a time for us to reevaluate our focus and our priorities.

Driving through the towns close to my house and things are definitely not business as usual. Lights are off when they are normally on. Parking lots are empty when they’re regularly full. The gym is closed and workouts are a little harder to come by for many people. Banks are limiting face to face communication with people. Store hours are narrowing. Restaurants are all but closed. Voices that once were loud have grown eerily quiet. So what do we do?

This week we turn our focus to faith. I stumbled across a song this morning by Matt Redman called We Praise You. The chorus of this song really spoke to me in the midst of this current situation. Doors being closed. Lights turned off. We need something…someone to break through the darkness. We need the weapon to combat the fear and isolation that’s being spread around us.

Praise! It’s the weapon that will fell the enemy. It’s the wrecking ball that will take down the walls being formed around us. Praise is the light that will help us see through the darkness. Praise will unleash the power of God’s amazing breakthrough of grace in our lives and in our community.

Take a few minutes out of your day today and revel in a moment of worship. Praise God for the things he’s done and the powerful ways he’s moving in your life already. Lift his name and show him the honor he’s due. Then sit back and watch as God does what only God can do…

Be well my friends!
