It was a Wednesday morning. I arrived at church a little early to put some finishing touches on a bible study that I had prepared for the ladies at church. We were reading through the book of Romans. It’s a rich book. The thoughts and teachings in this book are some of the heaviest in the entire new testament of the Bible. But they were not unfamiliar teachings to me. I had read these words more times that I can even count. I’ve preached messages on these words. I’ve translated them from their original language to english to help me get a better grasp on their context and meaning. Continue reading
Good Monday morning! Today we have so many reasons to be thankful for all that God is doing in our lives. That’s why I love this song by Matt Redman titled 10,000 Reasons. As we kick the Monday Blues to the curb, get a little pick-me-up for everything the day has before us.

This coming Sunday, October 26th, many churches of several different traditions will all celebrate something called the Reformation. But what is the Reformation? And what was it all about? In a single word, the Reformation was about basics.
I don’t usually post twice in one day but today is a bit different. This morning I was flooded with emotion and memories as I walked down the sidewalks of The Ohio State Medical Center Campus. I was there to pray with a man getting ready for surgery.
As I walked down the sidewalk and breathed in the cool fall air just after 6am, I remembered that 5 years ago to this day I was walking these exact same sidewalks. Continue reading
I love to work off site. After all, who comes to a church during the day on a weekday? If you’re scratching your head for an answer, it’s no one. And I have to be honest, I’m an extrovert and really need to be around people. One of my favorite off-site locations has to be Panera Bread. I used to fill up on the carbs but not so much anymore. I go more for the atmosphere. Let me explain. Continue reading
