Sometimes we need to shake things up a little. When we realize what happened to us when we realized God’s love for us, something should happen. When we receive the greatest gift ever given, there should be a change that happens in us. This week’s Music Monday song is a fun song by Mercy Me. This week we shake like we’ve been changed. As followers of Jesus we know the lengths to which he went to save us. We know of his death. We have learned of his suffering and pain. We’ve been taught the result of his amazing grace. These things should make a difference. They should cause us to pause for a moment and reflect.
Often when we look back on our lives, we notice that things have changed slowly. So slowly are these changes that it’s difficult to see the distance we’ve been taken by Jesus’ mercy and grace. When we reflect on our lives and how they’ve been transformed it might cause us to shake, shiver, squirm a little. It makes us uncomfortable that we were like that. Maybe that’s where you are right now. Maybe you’re living a like that kind of life? I pray you realize the work God has done with you in mind.
This week’s song is meant to boost your Monday attitude. I pray it gives you a smile. I pray it sets your feet to dancing. I pray it makes you want to shake just a little over all of the great things God has done for you. Go ahead. Crank up the volume. Then shake a little – no one’s watching!
