living for eternity today

My Lighthouse

rend-collective-experimentI’ve become very fond of music that’s a bit folky sounding, and this one is a great one! Imagine for a moment being lost in a fog. Better yet, think of all of those ships navigating their way to shore and the fog covers the horizon to the point that they can’t see where to go next. They call out on the radio for assistance and the lighthouse attendant activates the intense light beam to guide them to shore.

This song echoes that idea. It’s like we’re running around in the dark at times. Perhaps it’s a difficult decision to make or a job related matter. You feel as if you’re moving through a heavy fog. When we turn for help, the lighthouse turns on. To be more accurate, the lighthouse was always on. As a matter of fact the light never stops shining. The issue is, we often stop looking for that light.

We get all caught up in the worries of tomorrow when we really should be considering how we can live today, seizing every opportunity we have to live life to its fullest. So don’t fear what tomorrow might bring. Just rise and sing the praises of the God who is your lighthouse. After all, he is the light that pierces the darkness. He’s the light that no darkness can overcome.

Just wanted to give you a shout out on your website and all the things you’ve so thoughtfully posted. I love it! It lifts me up! We are so glad we have found this church. Clint loves the youth group – it’s just what he needed to keep growing in Christ. That means the world to me. You rock!
