What is your hope for tomorrow? What about your assurance for today? By now we’re a few months into a new year and things are starting to fire on all cylinders. We’re probably busier than ever with spring sports right around the corner. This post is intended to provide a brief pause in the busyness of life. We pause not because there’s not enough to do but because there are so many things vying for our attention. We pause in order to prepare for all of life that’s happening around us.

We are trapped in the busyness of work and classes and extra curricular activities. We feel trapped by the acts of service we feel are mandatory. We try to practice our ‘do-goodery’ tactics and I’m really not sure why. Is it because we think being more good than the next guy is going to make us better people? Is it because we somehow  want to have a few extra notches of accomplishments in our belt?

As followers of Jesus life shouldn’t be this stressful. As a matter of fact life should be fun! You see in life we tend to think that we deserve better. We feel as if we should have more or that only good things should be coming our way. We believe that in some way or another we can work our way into God’s good graces.

But can I let you in on a little secret that we all know but that God tends to teach me all over again every once in a while? It’s the fact that life will keep on going even when you can’t. It’s the fact that life isn’t about you but it’s for you. This week’s MusicMonday song is called Living Hope. It’s a song for worship. So take a pause from the busyness of life. Sit back and sink into this moment of worship. Sink into this time of song and praise for the one who makes you enough. It’s his accomplishments that are credited to your account. You win! His victory is yours!
