living for eternity today

Here

Ever have that moment when you felt all alone? Ever feel like the weight you’re carrying is too much for you? Ever feel like you’re sinking in the ocean and no one’s around to throw you a life-preserver? Feel like you’re running a race and you just can’t go one more step? Well there’s something you need to know. And it’s all about who’s here

We all have those moments when we just feel alone. Maybe it was a nasty breakup or we just moved away to college. Maybe it’s extra pressure at work and we just don’t know how we’re going to keep up? Perhaps the moment of loneliness happens when we see that everyone else has “someone” and we think we have no-one.

This week we focus on the one who is always with us even when we feel like no one is. The reality of the matter is that we serve a God who is present in our lives no matter what the days throw at us. We can be having the best day of our lives and He’s right there with you smiling all the way. We can be having the worst day imaginable and you know what, He’s right there holding you up so you don’t have to walk this road alone.

I know that we all handle struggles differently. Some of us will collapse into a ball in our room and just cry it out. Others of us will come out swinging and make everyone pay for our fears and failings. And the beauty of walking with a God who’s just here is that he doesn’t expect us to get it right first. He doesn’t tell us to suck it up buttercup. He doesn’t push our whining aside as if it’s no big deal. He just sits with us and lets us cry. He holds our hand and reminds us that he’s big enough to hold the world in his hand and yet cares enough for you to wipe away that tear that just rolled down your cheek.

You know, it’s pretty amazing that God is just here. Perhaps you can follow His lead and just be here for someone this week – no words are necessary, just be here.

This one hit it on the head for me. I am having a good cry now. I know this in my heart, but life is hard for me.

Kathy, sorry you’re having a hard time. How can I pray for you? May I send you an email to continue this conversation?
