This has been called the most wonderful time of the year. It’s the season of light and life and all things great! People are more loving and kind. People go out of their way to make others feel more loved. It’s the season of giving. It’s the season of generosity. But before we celebrate all of those thing, give a moment and pause to remind yourself what this day is really all about.

In his new album released in 2018, Matt Maher brings us face to face with the greatest reality of this season. Something unique and special happened on that day. Christmas morning, tomorrow morning, we celebrate the birth of the one who makes each day a blessing. Born on that day was the gift most in the world didn’t even know they needed. As men and women looked on, a child was born. As passers-by peaked into their lives this family grew much like every other family, but something was different. This day was born for a purpose far bigger than a birthday.

Born on that day was not just a baby humble and mild. Born that day was more than just a feeling of love and peace. Born on that day was a savior, a rescuer, a light, a healer, a protector, a man who would change the course of history and chart the course for the future.

This Christmas pause for a moment. Gather with family and friends on Christmas morning to be reminded why we do this day. Find a local church. Sit with your family. Listen to the reading of the Christmas Story. Then ask yourself How is God with me in my life?
