We’re now three weeks into a series on what it means to be In Christ. We’ve covered topics like In Christ I am a Child of God where we discussed our identity isn’t wrapped up in what we do but who’s we are. We moved on to In Christ I am Saved and looked at things from which we’re saved and those for which we’re saved. This week we’ll look at this whole idea of being In Christ from yet another angle as we discover what it means to be Together In Christ.

One of the hardest things to do in life is to say good-bye to someone who will be moving away or living in a far away place. Maybe it’s a friend that means the world to you or a family member who is changing careers and relocating. Maybe you’ve watched as that person who’s special to you fades off into the distance but remains ever-present in your heart.  This week we’ll be looking at what it means to be together even when we’re apart.

Part of the story of the bible is one of unity across boundaries. If  you’ve been part of the church for a while there’s something comforting about being able to know that we all think and believe the same. This is why we have groupings of churches called denominations. When they work properly they give us a basis for what we hold in common. The problem is in our modern era of church, we’re using our denominations to show our differences more than our commonalities.

This week we’ll look at how In Christ we actually are more together than we realize. And how the unity we have In Christ can overcome the separation and differences that come up in our lives. So no matter where you go or what you do, In Christ we are Together!
